Guitar virtuoso, Kaki King, will be releasing her sixth full-length studio album titled Glow on October 9th. Stepping aside from the singer-songwriter mode that she’s been in lately, King will opt for an

all instrumental tracklist on Glow which she describes as “…a guitar record. This is the sound of a person playing guitar. Whatever additions we made, the fundamental of this record is still one person playing a guitar. That’s who I am.”

“Great Round Burn” is a lush track indeed but one large aspect that’s missing is the outstanding guitar work that people who listen to King are expecting. The strings take front stage to a back seated strumming guitar that never makes its way to the

forefront. I have no doubt that King still has the chops but they are definitely not on display here.
