La gueule de bois 2011: Part one

Ahh, January. The traffic is back, and the weather blows. Throats are sore, voices are hoarse, and there’s not an Advil anywhere to be found. But what is the most difficult to bear: after 11 months of indignant resistance, the legions of music sites, webzines, MP3 blogs and rogue start-ups all start reading each other’s year-end recommendations, taking note that much of it is rather … good. Try also Richard Skelton, recording here as Clouwbeck:

One more? Our pleasure: stream the still and haunted “Toby Lee,” from Sophie Hutching’s 2010 debut Becalmed:

Hat tip for all: Fluid Radio. Much more to come.
