Charles Manson to Release Another Album

Yes, that Charles Manson.
Over the past four plus decades that Manson has been in jail he’s recorded multiple “albums” ranging from prison recordings, LP’s, EP’s, interviews and remixes. Now, after a successful Kickstarter campaign run by Los Angeles Beauty Is Pain boutique owner Manuel Vasquez, Manson has released a limited addition vinyl which will feature never before heard tracks, poetry and some “spoken word type stuff” which Vasquez describes as “nasal, bluesy folk music”, some of which dates back to the 80′s.
Vasquez became interested in Manson when he was in junior high school after hearing family members talk about him and wondering why he was labeled as “the boogeyman of America”. He states “I usually tell people that the perspective they have of Manson is what he was convicted for in 1969, not for what he became in prison. He is somebody who is obsessed with ecology and saving the earth, the environment and animals. Life is his obsession, not death.”
Vasquez wasn’t Manson’s first choice to produce the album but after a failed reach out to Phil Spektor, Vasquez
was there to pick up the reigns and ran the Kickstarter campaign, hand press the vinyls and sells the album in his boutique, all while receiving hate mail. So far Vasquez says that he’s sold a couple hundred of the 500 pressings and believes that he will have to do a second pressing.
Listen to one of the tracks from the album that appeared in a video that
is on the Kickstarter page. Very much raw country here.
