forthcoming: Stash, by Cock and Swan

Preview Cock and Swan’s forthcoming album Stash, due out on in April on Lost Tribe Sound. The opening track is named “Sneak Close” and — while we do our best to eschew the word “departure,” opting instead for something more akin to “growth” — the hairpin turn is impossible not to mention. Stash is a place of muffled tones, nodding tempos, tangible percussion, fragile monochrome vocals, and the harmonic imprecision of all things acoustic. It is immediate, earthy, and gently orchestral in its own skin. Watch for the full review as April draws closer.

We like to think of Cock and Swan — swagger and grace — as not necessarily the opposites themselves, but the tension between them. “Sneak Close” is a perfect illustration. Listen below.
