Adam and The Amethysts

Folk music has seen a revival in the last few years with acts like Mumford & Sons, Fleet Foxes and The Avett Brothers manning the helm. With this comes the fear that folk with find it’s way down the same path that alternative metal has found itself with every band showing up on the radio sounding exactly the same as the last one that had its 15 minutes of fame before fading off into oblivion.

Adam and The Amethysts takes the folk music that Canadians love but add elements of psych rock, The Beatles and Neil Young in order to create their own special blend. You can listen to “Prophecy” below which is a fantastic track that adds a calypso flare to feel good pop lyrics making one of the top tracks of the year.
