Duets with Janelle Monae are fun.

Although their musical stylings are extremely different. Monáe with her hot as a Dallas sidewalk in August R&B and Nate Ruess with his fragile yet powerful and spot on vocals, these two are an unlikely pair that work perfectly together, kind of like ex-lovers and restraining orders

“We Are Young” is a booming ballad that will be featured on fun.’s upcoming album Some Nights which will be in stores on February 21st. That’s a long time to wait I know but you can snuggle up to this warm tune during the cold winter months to get you through it. Below you can watch a video of an acoustic performance and below that stream the studio version.

Nate Ruess, I’m convinced, is unable to write a bad indie pop tune. As frontman for The Format he possessed the ability to write songs that were required sing-a-longs and ones that you could put on repeat all day. He has brought this talent to fun. in full force. I just don’t understand why this band isn’t getting more attention.
