tUnE-yArDs has been growing on me over the last few weeks. I think that I finally came to grips with Merrill Garbus’s sound when I was able to define it. tUnE-yArDs is basically what happens when you mix The Dirty Projectors with Micachu and The Shapes and then run it all through a blender on the puree setting.
Garbus stopped by Yours Truly to answer a few questions and play a live version of “You Yes You” which appears on the band’s genre bending album w h o k i l l. If you haven’t listened to this album yet don’t let the oddities dissuade you.
