In this ever changing musical world bands are always having to alter their approach of how they get music to the eager public and make it as unique and interesting as possible. Some musicians decide to try and write an album for all 50 states in the U.S. while other take a simpler route and personalize each LP that is mailed out.
Old Abram Brown are one of those bands that are breaking new ground of inventiveness and going on a “blog tour” in support of their upcoming album titled Restless Ghosts. Every Friday for the next two months one blog will have the pleasure of premiering an exclusive video from a live performance that the band recorded at Hunt Memorial Library in Southern New Hampshire. The Muse In Music is lucky enough to be the first stop on this tour and we’re proud to present to you the second track on the album, “Novelty Prize”.
“Novelty Prize” is an upbeat piano ballad in the same vein as White Rabbits. The track is a slow build at the beginning that with every passing minute grabs tighter onto the listener with its infectious melody and perfectly timed swells and horn blasts. Without a single flat spot in the 4 minute track, “Novelty Prize” is both inviting to the underground indie music lover as well as the everyday radio dial turner. This is a track that everyone can find common ground upon.
