[Video] Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros – “40 Day Dream”

Edwarde Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros gained quite a following after the release of their 2009 LP, Up From Below, which featured the hit some “Home”. What hasn’t gotten quite as much attention is their ambitious 12-part video series titled SALVO!

There were two videos released already and a third was just announced. The first two are for the tracks “Desert Song” and “Kisses Over Babylon”. So far we’ve seen Edwarde Sharpe (Alex Ebert) wandering aimlessly through a desolate wasteland, kill his father, immediate fall into a drug trip, get arrested by two Minors (police from Ursa Minor) for the murder,  organize a prison uprising and escape.

That gets us caught up to the newest video for “40 Day Dream”.

I really hope that they complete this project but something tells me that this is going to go the way of Sufjan’s States project. It’s been nearly two years since the release of Up From Below and we only have 3 videos. At this rate he’ll finish up the series in 2017.

Also be sure to check out Alex Ebert’s upcoming album creatively titled Alexander
