Here are a few more 2010 releases we missed. Start with the fragile, almost barren Sléptis, by Strië. It’s one of those rare works of art which seem intended for critical alliteration: Sléptis, Strië, slow, sparse, secretive, shy, sublime. (Does “cerebral” count?)
You’re forgiven if you, like MiM staff, confused this next album with a Sunset Rubdown cut, or with the soundtrack to a major motion picture. It’s Black Swan (in 8 Movements), by Black Swan, an anonymous New York musician, who sounds a bit like this:
And this one is different, considering. It’s a band called Adebisi Shank, and the album, This is the Second Album of a band called Adebisi Shank. Stream it right here. “Dance instrumental punk rock Ireland,” indeed:
