Best New Acts from Denton

Denton, a town about 30 miles north of Dallas, is the home of the musically talented students who attend (or drop out of) the University of North Texas. That being said, it has become a mini hub of great music. With the sad disappearance of Fry Street Fair in Denton, it was inevitable for something to pop up in it’s place. Here is where 35 Conferette festival came in 3 years ago. 35C fest is the weekend before Austin’s SXSW, March 10-13. Some of the bands scheduled to perform: Big Boi, Damien Jurado, Dr Dog, Gayngs, !!!, Local Natives, Dan Deacon, Jessica Lee Mayfield, White Denim, and more. Last year, 225 acts performed with an attendance of around 20,000 people. The full list has not been confirmed yet but don’t be surprised to see some, if not all of these acts in attendance.
