[mp3] Iron & Wine – “Walking Far From Home”

As promised, Iron & Wine released their first single for the upcoming album, Kissing Each Other Clean, on Black Friday for Mini Record Store Day. The 7″ for “Walking Far From Home” also includes two exclusive tracks, “Summer In Savannah” and “Biting Your Tail”. If you do a little bit of digging around on the internet I have no doubt that you could fine the exclusive tracks.

“Walking Far From Home” is a bit of a morph for Sam Bean. Instead of the typical low key, finger picking guitar with heavy folk tendencies Bean had incorporated light electronic uses that at first seem to detract from the track but in time becomes unassuming and fades into the background. This might be a little hard for devoted Iron & Wine fans to take and get used to but this might just be a good new angle for him.

“Walking Far From Home” will appear on Kissing Each Other Clean which is due out January 25th via Warner Bros.
