Toronto bachabilly five-piece (formerly Sadie May Crash) tendered their latest offering on September 4. Somehow the whole thing recalls that scene in Jesus’ Son, when FH follows the stranger with the snakeskin pattern leather and bare chest out of the laundromat. Christened Born Under a Veil, this is a collision of decadent hooks, sexy bipolar guitar, and dry punk vocals sung from a whiskey-stained lyric notebook. This stuff is irresistible.
Stand-out tracks are “Sound of the Bell” and “Fix+Repair,” but stream the whole thing, well … you know, right yonder:

I just stumbled across this post and checked them out, great review. This was a great find for me!
I saw these guys recently and they were top notch. I agree about Sound of the Bell – my favourite track from the EP. If you get the chance to see the live, jump all over it.
