Perfume Genius

Perfume Genius is one Mike Hadreas who is one of the newest bands to sign to Matador Records and has just released his debut album, Learning, which you can listen to and download the two track from below. The album was written in his mother’s basement after he moved from New York. Mike uses the most painful experiences from his life that he tried to hide from in order to write piercing songs that are sparse and haunting but at the same time so overflowing with depth that numerous listens areĀ  required to fully appreciate theĀ  purpose and release this album is for Hadreas.

The album only stretches on for 28 minutes in the ten song tracklist but by the end it feels as though you’ve been through a group therapy session. You leave knowing that your life isn’t really all that bad compared to the next guy.
