Good Old War

Sometimes it takes something falling apart to rebuilt it even better than it was before, that’s Good Old War. Made up of Keith GOODwin, Tim ArnOLD, and Dan SchWARtz, Philadelphia PA friends that joined up after the demise of Days Away and Unlikely Cowboy. Each member brought with them the good parts of their previous bands to create a simple and stripped down folk group that puts in the bare minimum layers to get the point across. After all why add in extra fluff if it’s unneeded.

The group has come quite a long way since their 2008 debut release Only Way To Be Alone. The lyrics and music on Only Way To Be Alone displays a band that had not quite found their footing in this new venture and trying too hard to steer clear of sounding anything like previous bands. Their 2010 self-titled release shows a much matured band with lyrics that are both telling and cryptic with deeper meaning while the music is better developed and more original this time around.

You can listen to the entire new album on their MySpace page.
