Woodhands – "Pockets"

Since I’m going to see The Rural Alberta Advantage tomorrow night at The Cavern in Dallas I thought I would post on one of the members side projects today.

I’ve talked about Woodhands once already this year in association with the release of their debut album Heart Attack which was released in April of 2008. Since then the duo has been touring the US, Canada, China and Japan not to mention all the work that Banwatt has been putting into The RAA during that time. Over the past year and a half they have also been working on new material as well as recording their sophomore release which will be titled Remorsecapade and is due out January 26th in Canada and February23rd in the US on Paper Bag Records.

Below is the first single and lead off track  from the upcoming album called “Pockets”. This isn’t exactly the best track that they’ve ever written and is leaning more towards the techno/electronica side with less emphasis on the vocals which is where we all knew this was headed anyway. In the next few weeks Woodhands will be taping the first video from the album for the tracks “CP24″.

Tracklist
1. Pockets
2. Talk
3. CP24
4. SLUTS!
5. Coolchazine
6. I Should Have Gone With My Friends
7. Dissembler
8. When The Party Is Over
9. I Want To Be Together
10. How To Survive A Remorsecapade (Outro)

Is the album cover a mix of cheesy and campy? Or is the campy robot assaulting a cheesy album cover? It’s your essay, so you must know.

HI there Great Dane.. It just so happens that I painted the robot into the still life and am therefore purveyor of such knowledge. A mix of cheezy and campy? Yes. Yes it is. But you forgot the secret ingredient… Annihilation!
