I didn’t really find The Swell Season’s Strict Joy as joyous as I had hoped it would be. It’s a swell album but doesn’t have a defining track that gives it a boost. That being said I haven’t exactly had my ear to ground in anticipation for the first video either but this one is well thought out and has some underlying tones to it. For those of you that don’t know Hansard and Irglovà were initially in a relationship for a time after the filming of Once but broke up shortly there after.

The video was directed by Sam Beam of Iron and Wine fame and depicts those awkward moments either after a fight or a breakup. With each person trying to go about their daily life but all the while knowing that at some point someone has to say something.
