Taking A Look Back At 2009

It impossible to listen to every album that gets released during 2009 in the many indie genres and sub-genres so it's very easy to pass by many albums that might have deserved a chance at...

Most Grievous of Errors

I have so many release dates running through my head during the year that sometimes they get mixed up and it doesn't help to try and keep track of both US and UK dates. Normally...

"we really wanted to put dre's 2001 on here but realised it came out in 1999. in 2019 people will want to put this on these lists but will realise it came out in 2009. i think i just compared this to 2001. that's fine, i'm sticking with it."

Here come the lists

Gorilla vs. Bear has published their list of top 2009 LPs and, let’s face it, this is when the But You Forgot…! legions will start mobilizing en masse. So for our first top ten list of the year, let’s publish the top ten “But You Forgot” LPs from that comments section:

1. Bitte Orca by Dirty Projectors
2. Song of Shame by Woods
3. Hospice by The Antlers
4. Wavvves by Wavves
5. (self-titled) by Real Estate
6. Tarot Sport by Fuck Buttons
7. Continent by CFCF
8. Tambourine by Little Girls
9. Two Suns by Bat For Lashes
10. Embryonic by The Flaming Lips

Of course my favorites among these LPs are the last two, but I confess that Hospice is pretty amazing. I mean, yeesh. Go give it a spin at Lala or something.
