"The Toll" by 3ofmillions

l_c7359728fd53849b058c6ce4be60d349Stream it here, from their 2008 release Immediate. Need some intel? Not a problem:

3ofmillions began in early 2008, after years of duo playing between Adrian Klumpes (piano/voice/live electronics) and Abel Cross (bass/voice/live electronics), with the addition of a percussive element – the youthful energy of Finn Ryan (drums/percussion).

The band has received critical acclaim for their released recordings, the EP Golden Calf brought out on the electro-experimental label ‘hellosQuare’, followed by the album Immediate on their record label ‘Space Dairy’.

Brave turns, textural layering and a strong sense of united phrasing direct the music from intimate storytelling to epic intensity. The trio investigate all reaches of improvisation, staying true to the spontaneity and experimentalism laid down in their precursors of blues, jazz, electro-acoustics, noise and industrial rock. The rawest of emotions are unleashed and transformed into sound.
