Spoon has been pretty sneaky this year. After the release of the critically acclaimed Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga in 2007 and some wide spread touring of the festival scene the boys seemed to be taking a little break with Daniel helping White Rabbits produce their 2009 album It’s Frightening. Then in June the Spoon EP Got Nuffin’ suddenly materialized out of no where to the elation of indie snobs everywhere. Then last week we got the announcement from Merge Records that we can expect the new album Transference in January of 2010. How did we as bloggers let this one slip by?
I guess all this is a moot point at this time. The good news is that we have a first single from the album and it’s called “The Mystery Zone”

That’s cool. Spoon is still kicking it!
Here’s what we know, just from this picture:
–The guy in blue likes to wear rivers stones on his fingers.
–The guy in maroon likes the taste of river stones. And makes Archvillian Hand with his left hand.
–The two guys in the back of the shot like to smile the exact same way and turn their head at the exact same angle.
–They all need a stylist.
–Never play poker with the guy in blue.
