Acoustic sets always pose their own unique set of problems for a band. Does one hold back on the vocals as there is no safety net of a loud back up band? What flare is thrown in to make the experience exciting and yet doesn’t take away from the original theme of the song? Does the drummer even make the trip or is he thrown in the corner with a percussion egg and told to do whatever he wants? These are just to name a few. But with a song called “Percussion Gun”, let me say that again “PERCUSSION gun”, the drums might want to make the trip. This is the case with White Rabbits performance of the track at Viva Radio’s You + Me session. The prominent and necessary drum line is completely omitted making the performance a truly stripped down version. The drums are replaced with a synthesizer that made me think they were going to bust into an acoustic version of “Eye Of The Tiger”.
