The cut is beautiful, yet remarkably tense. We often take for granted upcoming shifts in rhythm or time signatures, but this piece pushes to keep our backs against the ropes. Like the title suggests, the guitars tend toward metal, but that description falls far short, and is too loaded with connotations. This is a composition, not a rock song, and is as influenced by jazz and classical as by Ronnie James Dio.
