Politics Wednesday/Ann Althouse Watch/Wow, just wow

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. I just typed out a bejillion-word post saying the First Amendment of Music establishes the separation of rock and state, but this one absolutely demands recognition. Ann Althouse goes there: “[GOP 2012 presidential] prospects look dreary — except to the even more dreary extent that Obama is a miserable failure.”

She is clearly speaking for what she assumes will be the conservative mindset in three years (she herself is politically moderate), and she qualifies the statement with the clause “except to the even more dreary extent,” but she is an excellent and well-known writer and therefore knows how likely it is that someone will copy/paste to 18-point font: “Althouse: Obama is a miserable failure.”

The left-of-center commenters have — through 110 comments at least — exercised a surprising degree of restraint. Watch it happen now, in real time, at Althouse.
