I don’t pretend to be a Guitar Hero expert but I can shred the buttons when the situation presents itself, although I can’t get past Metallica’s “One” on Expert. That being said the new edition of Guitar Hero is being released September 1st and the artist list has me intrigued because the indie scene is well represented.

Here is the list of artists and the songs from that artist that I speculate/hope will used. Some of these aren’t my favorite songs from the specific artist but ones that would lend themselves well to the game and have the ability to get harder as the difficulty level raised.

Band of Horses – “Funeral”
Arctic Monkeys – “I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor”
Vampire Weekend – “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa”
Elliott Smith – “Needle In The Hay” (this one is anybody’s guess)
The White Stripes – “Icky Thump” (This one could get really hard)
Kings of Leon – “Crawl”
Sunny Day Real Estate – “Seven”
The Raconteurs – “Consoler of The Lonely”
