Scarlett Johansson Collaborates with Pete Yorn

20080423scarlettScarlett Johansson has decided to dive deeper into her desperate musical career despite some not-so-great reviews from her previous releases. She first brought us Tom Waits, then The Cure, then Jeff Buckley. Now she has teamed up with Pete Yorn to release a Sunny Levine-produced collection of duets called Break Up. Recorded in 2006, it features eight Yorn originals and a cover of Chris Bell’s “I Am The Cosmos.” The first single, “Relator”, is available on the official website and I must say that it is far better than anything that she has released to date. Luckily Johansson puts to bed her baritone voice and opts for a more feminine pitch while Yorn’s voice is a pleasant addition to the track.
