The Lone Punk Post

nofxI don’t keep up to date on the punk scene like I used to. That’s not to say that there isn’t anything good going on there but we don’t have the quality of punk bands as we did in the early 90′s. Back then we were able to rock out to Pennywise, Lagwagon, Rancid and a core of other bands that were anti-establishment and meant it. Luckily Fat Wreck Chords has kept most of the same bands from back in the day and they are still pumping out solid hard hitting albums while Epitaph has all but brought on fresh faces, keeping only Bad Religion, Millencolin and Rancid from the glory days.

I mention this because one of the grandfathers of skate punk, NOFX, are working on over 25 years of touring and recording and are set to release their 12th studio album next Tuesday titled “Coaster” which they claim is all CD’s are good for anymore. MySpace has an exclusive session with a couple of videos of songs and interviews with the band as well as the crew that has been touring with them for a majority of that time. There is also a 5 songs EP that you can download of the songs from the videos.

It is kind of strange to see Fat Mike and El Hefe looking so old while Eric and Melvin look exactly like they did 20 years ago though.
