Iron and Wine New Single

ironandwineIron and Wine have released a new single from their upcoming album Around The Well due out May 19th. The album will be a compilation of out-of-print and never-before-released tracks from Iron and Wine’s earliest sessions which yielded some of the songs that made it onto The Creek Drank the Cradle and The Shepherd’s Dog. The double-disc will be divided into two sections. The first is an assortment of hushed home recordings and the second will be highlighted moments captured in the confines of proper studios with the help of musicians and friends. The first single is “Trapeze Swinger” which is 9:30 of fantastic easy listening folk which I have come to enjoy out of Iron and Wine. The track can be downloaded for free from their website here and while you’re there you can also download free some alternate tracks from The Shepherd’s Dog.

“Trapeze Swinger” was performed at Iron and Wine’s stellar appearance on Austin City Limits last December. Below is a video of “Boy With A Coin” from that same performance.
