nmt-final-final-final-final-final-finalThis week’s entry is a bit curious: it’s Juju Claudius by The Chatham Singers, led by “legendary musician, writer and painter Billy Childish.” Juju Claudius is a follow-up to their 2006 debut Heaven’s Journey, which test-drives traditional blues, country and gospel on the toll-booth superhighways of our new millennium. In their own words:

[Billy Childish is] an anachronism who is forever influencing the world of contemporary art and music. As ever, these recordings are sophisticated, homemade and primitive, which Billy explains is “the only way to connect with the heart.”
