Signs that you've found a spectacular band

split1. The name of the squad of antagonists is Birds of Delay.

2. A typical track name goes something like “Birds of Delay v. Phil Parnell.”

3. The name of their record company is, or is said to be, “Shitloads.”

4. They issue several releases per year, tracks are often 20 minutes long, and the release is limited to, say, 114 copies.

4a. As a corollary to number 4 above, virtually everything they’ve released is sold out … with no mention of a reissue.

5. It’s noisier than Wolf Eyes.

UPDATE: Always on the lookout for a hoax (I like them too much for these two to be for real), I find this review, this credible-sounding interview, and this video:

That clears things right up.

UPDATE: While you’re at it, try out this outfit. They’re called The Digitariat. I like the track “Ball Crusher.” Or maybe it’s just getting late in the day.
