Is 2009 already better than 2008 for album releases? NPR seems to think so. They have already compiled their list for the top ten albums of the year if 2009 ended today and the way the stock market is going that may be a possibility. The list they have put together isn’t half bad either. Although they did cheat and add albums that have not been released yet based upon expectations alone.
If I had to answer this question myself, which I do because this is my post, I would say that 2008 and 2009 are neck n’ neck so far. 2008 started out extremely strong with all the albums on my top ten list coming out before July. After that it dried up worse than Macaulay Culkin’s acting career. 2009 has made a fair showing for itself in this young year but let’s hold off on the “best year of music ever” talk until the thermometer spikes in a few months so we can see if 2009 will last the entire year.

Not one of those LPs will make my top 10 list.
And please, you two. No more talk of the stock market crashing. This is where the people (i.e. “I”) come to hide from all that carnage. I’m about to start bringing out my yellow penalty flag faster than you can say FDIC.
